FOOD BANK AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH

To quote Pastor David’s sermon from July 5, “as followers of Jesus, we are called to listen, to help, to be there for others – to be the caring presence of Christ to others”.  One way Trinity does this is through operation of the Trinity Food Bank/ Community Outreach Fund whereby we help others meet their physical and monetary needs and to hopefully help them create a better quality of life.

The Trinity Food Bank is located in the basement of the church and is operated totally by church volunteers.  Because of your generous contributions, we are fully funded, self sufficient and able to assist other ministries and people in the community in various ways – not just groceries.   We also recently received a federal grant to further fund those needs.   The Food Bank/Community Outreach Fund is administered by the deacons with oversight from the session and pastor.  The fund provides groceries and vouchers for groceries and/or gas to those who come to the food bank.  The fund also assists those in the community in need with rent/mortgage, utilities, prescriptions, emergency situations, Christmas needs, job related expenses, etc.  Trinity coordinates with Samaritan Ministries, Family Mountain Center, Angels Outreach and Grand Lake Elementary to share needs in the community.

If you have questions about the Food Bank/Community Outreach Fund or if you know of someone who is struggling financially and might benefit from assistance, please contact one of the deacons.

Food Bank Hours of Operation:  Monday-Wednesday 9AM - 3 PM or by appointment (Call 970-627-3510)

Feed the hungry!  Help those in trouble!

Then your light will shine out from the darkness,

And the darkness around you shall be as bright as the day!
